His story with Murray Engineers begins in early 2016 when he was researching a project and came across a report “prepared by Murray Engineers for a project in a San Francisco neighborhood that I knew very well,” he says. 
 
“In the industry there’s a lot of variety on quality,” he adds. “Some company reports are written as though a person showed up, dug a hole, and wrote a five-page letter saying okay, go build it.”
Reading through the Murray Engineers report he found himself impressed with “the quality and depth, the information and organization,” he says. “It was a real indication that Murray Engineers adheres to the highest professional standards and that they know what they’re talking about. The geology section was very detailed and clearly prepared by someone who knows and appreciates the unique conditions of San Francisco. The investigation was thorough in terms of the number of borings and lab testing performed. The recommendations were sound and not overly conservative. It was clearly a high-quality piece of engineering. The client was well served.”

A California-licensed PE, Mr. Scavullo earned his Master of Science in Environmental Science Policy and Management in 2005 from UC Berkeley. He also holds a BA in Environmental Studies from
UC Santa Cruz.
